What is buyback?

You can bring your textbooks back at the start of the term and sell them through our buyback program. As long as they’re in good condition and have resale value, we’ll take them. Buybacks are done in-store only, and payments are made by debit or credit card — no cash.

When is the next Textbook Buyback Date?

Buyback is held three times every year: mid-August until 3rd week of September, November 3–28, mid December until 3rd week of January and mid to late April. Dates will be posted on our website and social media pages. Follow our Facebook or Instagram to stay up-to-date on all upcoming OC store events.

Where can I go for the buyback?

Our textbook buyback program is available at the Kelowna Campus Store only.

Will you accept buyback books in any condition?

Because books are resold to other students, OC campus stores do not accept or pay for buyback books with:

  • Stains or water damage
  • Missing, torn, or loose pages and covers
  • Excessive writing or marking
  • A broken spine/damaged binding
A textbook can still be in good condition if it shows signs of general use and wear and tear, such as:
  • Some writing or notes
  • Hightlighting, from a little to alot
  • Rounded or dog-eared corners
  • Faded cover art

Why won't you buy back my book?

  • Books have not been requested for upcoming semesters
  • The edition of the textbook has changed, or the book is no longer in print
  • If the textbook had an access code attached, unfortunately we are unable to buyback just the textbook.
  • We dot not buyback looseleaf copies, novels and custom course packages
